Senior Architectural Technologist
Description
We’re looking for an experienced Structural Technologist to join our team! In this role, you’ll work on diverse and exciting projects, from buildings to industrial facilities, contributing to designs that are safe, efficient, and innovative. You’ll have the opportunity to mentor junior team members, share your expertise, and play a key role in guiding project success. [ a day in the life of a technologist at co-elevate]
- Attend a stand-up meeting with your scrum team to discuss yesterday’s challenges and plan for the day’s tasks
- Contribute to the development of staff with less experience by providing guidance and troubleshooting issues
- Construct 3D models of structural systems using Autodesk Revit
- A daily break for a quick video game (if inclined)
- Attend one of co‑elevate’s group events such as potlucks, lunch & learns, book club, etc.
- Participate in one of co‑elevate’s charity causes such as blood drives, toy drives, food drives, or seasonal in-house charity events
- Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.)
- Regular site work as required
- Other duties as assigned/required
- At the end of the day, it is commonplace for our leadership to send staff members home to ensure work-life balance
[ what we are looking for in a technologist ]
- 10+ years of experience in the drafting of variety of structure types, materials, and sizes
- Experienced in onsite inspections of works under construction, shop drawing review, and contract administration
- Lead drafter experience on all types of projects
- Strong understanding of building construction techniques and ability to troubleshoot designs with the team
- Capable of mentoring, guiding, and providing oversight to junior technologists
- Creativity and innovation in finding solutions
- Willing to work in-office (Kitchener, ON or London, ON)
