[ a day in the life of a structural engineer at co-elevate ]
- Attend a stand-up meeting with your scrum team to discuss yesterday’s challenges and plan for the day’s tasks.
- Provide meaningful oversight and mentorship of less experienced staff by providing engineering guidance and reviewing calculation packages.
- A daily break for a game of Table Tennis or Foosball is always welcomed.
- Attend one of co-elevates group events such as potlucks, lunch & learns, book club, etc.
- Participate in one of co-elevates charity causes such as blood drives, toy drives, food drives, or seasonal in-house charity events.
- Conduct drawing review to ensure conformance to designs and seal drawings as needed.
- At the end of a long day, it is commonplace for our leadership to send staff members home to ensure work-life balance.
[ what we are looking for in a senior structural engineer ]
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario with 10+ years of experience in the structural engineering field
- Experienced in the design of multiple structure types and materials (steel, wood, masonry, concrete, etc.)
- Experienced in the design and construction of multi-storey structures
- Ability to design and stamp a new two or three storey structure framed out of conventional materials
- Ability to design and stamp 5+ storey building framed out of conventional materials
- Comfortable and qualified to act as a trusted construction liaison for most co-elevate projects
- Able to learn new structure types, heights, and configurations
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, and RISA3D
- Creativity and innovation in finding solutions
- Demonstrated success in mentoring, guiding, and providing oversight to junior engineers

This role is open to work in our London, Kitchener, or St. Thomas office, or fully remote for the right candidate.
